We will also test on 30 phonograms on Fridays. On the first Friday of the month we have a test over all 70 phonograms.
Reading/Book Reports This week we will read Harriet Tubman. We will do a reading and vocabulary test on Thursday. Please go over the vocabulary words with your child. This story will also be given a social studies grade.
Language We will work on categorizing words by parts of speech, the suffix ance and ous. This week I will continue modeling an informative report about an animal. Your children will bring home this report to serve as an example for our upcoming report and project. Information will go home on Monday.
Math We will work on reading and writing 5-digit numbers, expanded form, and perpendicular line segments.
Social Studies We will finish our unit entitled People Long Ago. The test will be Thursday, March 22nd. Please go over the study guide with your child. Other Just to clarify, the book report rough draft is to be written in the packet. The final copy will be written in multi-paragraph form on lined paper. I have provided some paper for the book report. Let me know if you need more paper. Staple the rough draft and final copy together when he/she turns it in.
